Indexing

My contacts are not updating properly. When I enter a search it says results
may not be complete as outlook is indexing. It appears to be stuck in this
mode. New contacts that are added do not show in any searches. They are
showing up if I scroll down to through the list of contacts.

you left out a lot of data:

version of Outlook and service pack level
how exactly are you "searching" for Contacts?
