Indexing Service Question

Hi All

I am a newbie to Indexing Services. Could you please let me kno
whether it is possible to extract the position of a particula
document indexed within a Index server catalog? For exmaple, If I hav
a word "Twilight" in Test.doc word document (the document exists i
Index Server Catalog) and I query the Index server for the wor
"Twilight", apart from returning that the word "Twilight" exists i
Test.doc, can the Indexing server also provide info about the locatio
of the word within the document (e.g. word "Twilight" exists on Pag
8, Line 5

If this is not possible through Index Server, could you please provid
any pointers as to how this could be achieved programmaticall

Hi Paula,

Yes - It's possible with Indexing server

Network administrators and Webmasters, as well as end users, benefit from
Microsoft Index Server features. These include:

Full-text indexing. Users can search for a set of words or phrases, or even
a complete sentence.
Query by properties. Users can search for properties stored on files such
as author, subject, file size, and date.
"Fuzzy" queries. Users can search with wildcards, regular expression
matching, and linguistic stemming to find all tenses of a verb.
Advanced searches. Users can search with combinations of all the above,
including proximity for words near other words, numeric operators(<, =, >),
and Boolean logic (AND, OR, NOT).
Customizable query forms. Webmasters can predefine popular queries, and
create custom searches and results pages.
Zero maintenance. Index server automatically updates when documents are
changed, added, or deleted.
Integrated security. Users are only shown documents that they have
permission to view.

Thanks,
