index using automark

i've created an index at end of Word 2007 document using automark. The index
is created but the page numbers are wrong so that the index is no use.
Please explain how to correct the page numbers in an index. I have over
hundred items and so dont want to do it one by one.

Have you tried updating the index field?

Also, note that the page numbers used by the index depends on the settings
chosen in the Page Number Format dialog box (and those settings can be
specified for each Word section). See
