Index page help

Ken

I have one index page on my local site and 2 on remote site. Is there any
reason for this? Both pages on remote site is exactly the same and the site
works. If I delete one index page, the site stops working. I deleted both
index pages and republished the site and it's still showing 2 index pages.

I'm curious as to why 2 index pages on remote site. Using FP2003.

Thanks, Ken

When publishing a web, FrontPage checks the server for the proper name for
the default file and automatically renames it if needed.
For example, it will change index.htm to index.html or default.htm to
default.html.
This is normal.
Rename your local index.htm to index.html and let FrontPage update links
when prompted.
Then publish the index.html file.
Then delete index.htm from the server.

Thanks Steve,

That was the problem. I followed your suggestion and only one index page on
my remote site now.
