Index Headings

Basically I have a large index document with subentries and I am using an \h
switch in the index code in order to get the alphabethical headings.

Example: (bottom of page 1)

-A-

fruit
apples
bananas
cantalope

Example: (top of page 2)

grapes
tomatoes

What I want page 2 to look like is:

fruit (continued)
grapes
tomatoes

How do I get Word to do this?

Unfortunately, you cannot have Word add "(continued)" text to the
index. If you try adding it manually, you will lose it the next time
the index field is updated.

Of course, you could unlink the field with Ctrl+Shift+F9 (which turns
it into text) and then add the text, but, unless you are planning to
print the document or convert it to a PDF, this kind of defeats the
purpose of having Word generate the index in the first place.

I have done this, though. When editing is complete and the index will not
change, you can unlink it and apply any manual formatting that may be
needed.
