From yesterday my notebook (with Vista Home Premium) goes very very very
slowly!

I don't know if the cause is the update from Acrobat from ver. 8
Professional to 8.1.2 but now notebok start-up takes 10 or more minutes and
then my user start-up takes other 10-20 minutes! In other words, it's
extremely slow from when I turn it on to when I turn if off, you can't use
it anymore! What's happen?

HELP ME, please! :-(

What's your hurry? The world is too hectic these days so I designed Vista to
be slow and relaxing. I even changed the little hour glass to a spinning
circle so you can relax and enjoy yourself while waiting. I got the idea
from a John Lennon song " I"m just sitting here watching the wheels go round
and round". Me and Melinda watch it for hours sometime :o)

do a system restore to before you added the new acrobat

I could try, now I'm performing a defrag hoping this solves the problem but
I don't think so..

Take a look at the post I left for you in vista.performance_maintenance.
Please cross-post, do not multi-post.

Got a restore point from before the Acrobat update? Try that.

Do you think Acrobat could be the cause?

Have you ever known about this strange problem? :-O

Firewall ZoneAlarm 7
AV NOD32
Windows Defender

Anyway, they are installed from some days without problems. Could there be
hardware causes of my problem?

Thanks,

Mhaxx

What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.

Disinstalling Acrobat a strange error said Windows detected a problem on the
hard disk and suggested to backup all the data!

Oh.. have I to think it's a problem of the hard disk? :-(((

Does the problem persist if you disable ZoneAlarm and replace with Windows
Firewall?
Yes

I used for many days that firewall without problems..

Well make sure it's the version for Vista. If you installed the XP version
it may work for awhile but then fail.

I'm trying to salve all my data and I can except this:

- [dir] C:\System Volume Information
- [file]
D:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys\a81ab05b2d65e000913a8e0a784479e5_2929b53e-8016-4fc0-9be1-c9d2690e9d0e
- [file]
D:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys\ef4506147ba0cc0e5bca9b1d29b906bc_2929b53e-8016-4fc0-9be1-c9d2690e9d0e
- [file] D:\Windows\bthservsdp
- [dir] D:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI\RtBackup
- [file] D:\hiberfil
- [dir] D:\System Volume Information

Is it necessary to work? Can I restore all this data into new hard
disk in the future hoping everything will work good without this
file/dir I really can't copy?

(why can't I copy them? Windows says they're in use, but it's not
true, the HD of the notebook is disconnected from the notebook and
connected to my PC via SATA)

Thanks,

Mhaxx
