Increase in Number of Pages in Word Document

I created a document in Word 2003 that has 1,255 pages. I back the document
up on another computer whenever I change it, so the document appears on two
separate computers. The original computer I'll call C-1 and the back up
computer I'll call C-2. I have a situation where the document on C-1 now
reads 1,500 pages while the document on C-2 is reading the correct 1,255
pages. C-1 and C-2 are networked. When I view the C-1 version from C-2, it
shows the correct 1,255 pages. When I go into C-1 to view it, it shows
1,500. The difference between the two documents is that C-1 is shortening
some lines (not all), with, for example, the first page ending four lines
shorter than the version on C-2, which is the back up copy. How do I fix C-1
to correctly read 1,255 pages and to get the two documents to match?

The document is manuscript of a book and I need the pages to agree on all
copies.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Maybe they have different default printer drivers.

Or the normal.dot templates have different formatting settings for the
same-name styles?

Thank you so much. The printer driver on C-1 had been changed. When I
changed it back to the original printer driver setting, all was well.

You help was greatly appreciated.
