Several people on this group have mentioned a problem when creating an
appointment directly on a resource calendar (Instead of inviting) using
Outlook 2003.
I did some testing here and elected to burn a PSS support call (which
they credited btw). All versions of Outlook prior to XP SP4 work
correctly (showing the username of the organizer), XP SP4 and all
revisions of Outlook 2003 show the name of the resource calendar
instead.
PSS acknowledges this is a problem that they can reproduce, then
automatically says "But we don't recommend that you book appointments
that way..."
I did get the PSS Tech to claim he would escelate the issue to
programming so that perhaps a hotfix or work around could be issued.
If you have a support contract and this is an issue for you perhaps if
you jump on the bandwagon and make the call we can get something done
about this. For those of you who subscribe to Technet Pro you may not
be aware that your subscription includes 2 free PSS calls per year
which is why I was willing to burn one if necessary, but they were fair
about it and credited the call so that I still have my 2 free ones.
