I have been having a problem with xp reporting that my free
disk space is 0 when there should be 13gig or so.
I've read "Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 315688How to
Locate and Correct Disk Space Problems on NTFS Volumes in
Windows XP",that didn't really help much because when it
happens I either get a message that the disk is "locked" or
there isn't enough disk space to run any programs and i'm
forced to reboot witch usually fixes the problem for 3 or 4
days then it returns.I've reinstalled windows and run
updated virus, firewall and spyware removal programs.
I want to know how to get rid of the probem or at least how
to find out what, causing it.

.

Run CHKDSK
then -
Double-click My Computer, and then double-click the drive
letter (for example, "C") of the volume that you want to
check.
Click any file or folder, and then click Select All on
the Edit menu.
Right-click any file or folder, and then click Properties.
Click the General tab, and then review the "Size"
and "Size on disk" file size values, which calculate the
total number of files and folders on the entire volume.
