inconsistent CD writing

Why does XP Pro sometimes use "delayed cd writing" and at other times
immediately write to disk? It seems quite inconsistent on my PC. Sometimes I
see an Explorer window with "file currently on..." and "waiting to be
written...". Other times the Explorer window is quite normal with a status
bar that shows number of files on CD and free space available. I typically
use Easy CD Creator 5.3.5.10 to write CD's. Can XP's built in CD writer be
disabled so it always writes immediately.

Thanks

If you right-click on the burner, and select Properties,
there should be a tab for "CD Burning" or something
similar. Uncheck the "Enable CD burning" to disable
XP's built in CD burning function for that drive.

I read that elsewhere too, tried it and then I couldn't record anything.
I'll try it again tonight. I think the first time I tried it I hadn't yet
upgraded Easy CD Creator 5 to the latest revision level. Maybe it will work
now.

thanks
