Incomplete Home Network Access

P

PT

Configuration:

I have three computers sharing a router on a Windows home network

Operating Systems:
A – Windows XP Home
B – Windows XP Home
C -- Vista 64 bit Ultimate

C can access shared folders on A and B

B can each access shared folders on A and C

A can access shared folders on B

But A cannot access shared folders on C. The shared folders of C
appear on A’s list of network connections. But clicking on any of
them leads to a long pause followed by a message to the effect that
the folder is not accessible, and might not have granted privileges.

I double checked the shared folders on C and the sharing is for
everyone to have full access.

What may I have missed or overlooked?

Hi
I assume that you are aware that Everyone does not mean Everyone on the
Network but rather Everyone that is On the allowed list of the specific
Computer.
If you really want Everyone to access with No passwords, switch On the Gust
Account and set its permission and security to Full Read/Write Access.
In general, make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows
free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native
Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your
Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult
your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.
