incoming POP3 account resets

How can I prevent Outlook from resetting my incoming POP3 server to localhost
and adding "mail.domain" to the user name in my accounts. This has been a
problem in the last three version of Outlook, currently running 2003.
 
HI J,
if you running Norton or another Virusscan,
please be sure, that outlook have full permission to send and receive!
