Incoming Mail Self-Destructs before Save or Print? Legal Problem

Here's a brainteaser maybe: Mail I received from a lemon law car
manufacturer unethical defendant "self-destructed" when I tried to save it
to hard disk.

Doesn't happen with any other mail from anyone else. So....

Is there really a program or option to "self-destruct" your mail if someone
tries to save it?

This has huge potential, so any help pleeeeeease!

Thanks!

Yes, if they have established an Expiration date and time to respond. This
is established by the sender from the options menu/tab.

Define "self-destruct". What version of Outlook? How are you trying to
save the message?

There was no expiration date. It "self-destructed" as soon as I tried to
move it to a mail folder to save it. It is not in deleted items, not in sent
items, not in drafts, not in the inbox any more, not on the hard drive,
nowhere. I received it and opened it within 5 minutes. I never hit any
delete key. I did not reformat, do disk cleanup, defrag or anything. It is
no longer on the system and no longer on the server. The version is Outlook
Express 6.00.29. Thanks.

Ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup like
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general. This newsgroup is for Office
Outlook, a completely different product.
