Good day everyone,

Is there a way to get notified of new emails in outlook in a similar way
like MSN (i.e. Pop-up message concept)? Is there an Add-in or something to do?

Yes, of course. Check Tools | Options | E-mail Options.

It would be helpful if you told us what version of Outlook you were using,
though.

Office XP .. Outlook version 2002 (10.2627.2625)

but outlook has to be opened inorder for this to happen right?
