INCOMING EMAIL JUST DISAPPEARS

Incoming mail flashes a title, but immediately disappears and can't find
them--anywhere...not in Trash bin or deleted items or in re-cycle bin.
They're just gone. Been using Outlook for years, and this is first time it's
happened. I must've clicked something in Options? Jack in Fort Myers

I had something like this and was convinced that it was due to either
a hack or a trojan email that compromised my account--though in my
case, messages were being saved in my deleted items folder--good thing
as not only my emails, but all my contacts and calendar appointments
disappeared too. In addition, some strange contacts were being added,
and I started getting delivery error messages.

I ended up erasing and reinstalling my outlook installations,
rebuilding the database (I use exchange server) and changing my
exchange password; that seemed to fix it. But I never got a clean
diagnosis as to what went wrong in the first place.

What type of email account? Have you used search and applied it to all the
folders?
