Incoming Appt. Reminder

Is there a way to automatically set a reminder on an incoming
appointment/meeting when the sender sent it without the reminder selected.

For example, I accepted a meeting request and ended up missing the meeting
because I did not receive the 15 minutes reminder. I'd like a to have the
reminder set on an appointment regardless of how the sender sent the request.
