Include message in reply

I am new to Vista and Windows Mail. If my question has already been
discussed please excuse the repleat.

On the last mail system that I used when I was responding to a message that
I recieved I always included the senders complete message with some kind of a
marker in the left margin. When I would respond to this message I would
intersperse my comments within the message somewhat in a conversational mode.

I found a way to set up my profile to "include message in replay" but what I
see includes the complete header which I don't want. I do not have a problem
cutting that out. But when I am left with the text of the message I can not
add my text to the message. When I place my cursor where I want to break up
the text and start to enter text the vertical bar to the left continues to be
there. I do not want my text to have a vertical bar next to it, only the
original message that I recieved.

I have also noticed that if I try to go to the end of the included text from
the mail that I am responding to and start to type I again get the vertical
bar in the left marging.

Is there a way to type new text and not get the vertical bar. The only way
that I have seen so far is to start typing at the top of the message and not
go near the saved/recieved text.

Thank you.

In order to intersperse your comments into the original text you will first
need to change the format from HTML to plain text.

I know of only two options:

1. Change your message format to plain text.

2. Find a Vista version of your former email program.
