My windows mail is stuck in the 'inbox' mode.
How do I get back to the main menu?

Does clicking the Folder List icon on the toolbar give the view that you
want?

If not view>layout might be another option?

Other than that please be a little more specific.
 
Try View | Layout and enable the folder list or the folder bar.
