Inbox location in Folder View

hi all,
I am going nuts with something basic:

I use outlook 2003. On the left pane, where it shows you your inbox and
all other folders, I want my inbox to remain at the top. I create many
folders, some of which are alphabetically before 'Inbox' (like 401k,
customer, etc) and outlook forces them to show up on top of inbox in
order. This gets to be nightmarish as I add more folders, and inbox is
sitting somewhere in between.

It seems I cannot drag inbox to the top (it tells me inbox, calendar.
etc. cannot be moved). Is there any way to keep inbox at the top ?

I know, one solution is to create another folder alphabetically after
Inbox and stuff other folders there, but I want to avoid nesting.

many thx

Have you tried adding your Inbox to your Favorite Folders list?

I never thought of that. It solves my primary purpose, though I would
still prefer it to be in the same list and not separated by a thick
grey bar - but hey, at least it gets me there.

Again just for the sake of aesthetics, any way I can hide "inbox" and
"sent" in the 'All Mail Folders' area, since I've moved them to my Favs
?

Thanks
