Inbox Heading height too large

Somehow the heading in my inbox folder got changed, where the dark grey
background is now over an inch in height.
All my other folders are their normal 1/4" in height.
The Inbox folder is also has a light grey box that says date and is greyed
out.
Can anyone tell me how to change this back to normal.
I am using Outlook 2003.

Enable your advanced toolbar and click on the Group By icon.

I selected Tools - Customize - toolbars tab.
Advanced is already checked. I don't see anything about a group by icon.

Ensure you are using full screen - it looks like a message window showing
the column header and the preview pane below.

I can't find where to set Full screen.
Also would this setting only effect the inbox folder?

To get a full screen, double click on the title bar.

To find the Group By box using another method, display your mail via reading
pane->bottom. Right click on one of the column headers and click on Group
By Box.
