INACCESSIABLE_BOOT_DEVICE

my puter froze and I rebooted it an all I can get is a blue scrren saying INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.....says check for viruses and removenewly installed hard drives/controllers (I have no new ones) and it also says to run CHKDSK / F to chk for hard drive corruption then restart puter.

YET I am unable to get past that blue screen. Puter does not respond to anything you do w/ keyboard.

You've likely crunched some important system files in the root directory of
your active drive. Rather than go into the details, try an inplace update
as explained in MS Knowledge Base article #292175.
