Inability to use links

When I click on a link in my email, nothing happens. If I
post the same link in Explorer, it works fine... the web
site appears as advertised. I assume that the assocaition
between IE and Outlook is broken but I don't know how to
fix. Some hints on how to fix would be appreciated.

Are you looking in the preview screen? If you actually
open the message it should then become active. You might
also have to hold ctrl when you click it.
 
The problem was associations. A rogue browser got loader
on to my system. Although I deleted the brower, Outlook
was still trying to direct http files to this deleted
browser. Problem was fixed using the procedures outlined
in MS Knowledge Base Article 258166 under Workaround. The
correction process in XP is a bit different than processs
described in the article but the general idea is the
same.
