on my computer, i have microsoft upgrades that automatically download and
install. the most recent one took a very long time and it was a "security
package" or something like that. now, since then i have tried to use my photo
card reader to transfer pictures onto my computer and it will not allow this
to happen. within the "wizard", it says the parameter is incorrect. i never
had a problem with transferring pictures before this, does anyone have any
thought on this???

Hi Tracy,

You may need to uninstall SP2 (this is what the large security update
installed), unless the makers of your photo card reader are able to provide
information on a workaround. The update locked down a lot of Windows XP, and
it may have included something your software relied upon, or it may have
upgraded/changed a system file that the software was dependent on (which is
what my guess would be).

The option to uninstall the Service Pack should be in the Control Panel/Add
& Remove, just enable the option at the top to "Show Updates".
