I am a new user of Word after 15 years of versions of WordPerfect. My page
layout is in metric. How can I change margins etc to inches?

In WordPerfect I could press F7 to indent and keep all subsequent text at
that indentation. How can I do that in Word?

1. Tools | Options | General: Measurement units.

2. Ctrl+M will indent the paragraph, and any subsequent paragraphs will
maintain the indent until you remove it (Ctrl+Shift+M) *unless* you have
either of the WordPerfect options enabled on the General tab of Tools |
Options. But a better way to create an indent paragraph is to use an
indented style. You can also create indents of various sorts using the ruler
(see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/UsingRulers.htm).
