With MS Word 2003 on a Windows XP how can I type symbols like the not equals
sign which is = with a slash through it. Similarly there is the greater than
or equals sign which is < with an underscore below it.

A while ago with word on the mac there was a feature caleld keycaps which
would put up a screen image of the keyboard and it would show you what
happened when pressign the shift, alt keys etc. is there something similar
for Word on Windows?
thanks

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm

The two characters you asked about are glyphs 2260 and 2265 (in the
Mathematical Operators character subset).
