A second page will automatically appear when you reach the end of the first
page. If you need one at a specific point you can enter a page break. You
will find this on the Insert menu, or a quick way is to hold down the Control
key and press the Enter key on the number keypad. Does this solve your
problem?
Assuming you're not typing in a table or text box, the problem is probably
caused by an obscure glitch in Word's column formatting. Go to Format |
Columns, select the preset picture for One, and click OK. Do this even if
the dialog is already set to 1 in the "Number of columns" box. This checks
the "Equal column width" box, which can't be done any other way when you
have only a single column. Without this Word sometimes gets confused and
thinks it has more than one column and the first is margin width, leaving no
room for the second (or something like that).
