In the send/receive prgress window there is a thumbtack-What for?

In the window there is a thumbtack in ther bottom right hand corner what does
it do?
 
Have you tried clicking it to find out?

You would have noticed that when it is set to a horizontal position, namely
'off', the Send Receive window will automatically close when all online
activity stops.

On the other hand, with the 'thumbtack' in the 'on' position, the window
will not close.

That is the feature and function of all thumbtacks.
