In outlook message of a dialog box is open

when I open Outlook I get this message, "A dialog box is open. Close it and
try again." What does this mean?

A window behind it is open and needs to be closed. Minimize all windows (do
not use the show desktop button on the quick launch taskbar). You will see
it.
