In Outlook 2007, How to change default email format from HTML to t

Periodically I like to save my emails into file folders outside Outlook 2007.
When I go to "SAVE AS" I am given the option of saving the message in various
options, the default being HTML. However, when I save in HTML, I get a
folder with the name, along with the file. of that name I don't know why
this is happening, but I can avoid it if I save my emails in TXT format.

Thus, my first question is, when saving an Outlook file in HTML format, why
does the program save the file both as a folder (with the same name), and a
file?

Second, if I can't get around this, how do I change my defaul file-saving
setting from HTML to TXT? THanks.

you can't change the default and that is how outlook 2007 does it (and how
ie has always done it)... it is possible to break the link to the folder and
keep just the message, but not save just a single HTML file.
