I have a windows live account and I tried adding my works .com account to
it.but it asks for out and in coming source IE........ http pop3 smpt or
is
it smtp ect ect but how do I know which one I need, Its driving me
nuts........
Http, pop3, smpt, and smtp are all invalid as server names, although some
of them are valid protocols. The correct server names depend on who
your email provider is. Many people choose their internet providers as
their email providers also, since most internet accounts include at least
one email account. Ask your email provider for their instructions for
setting up to use their email servers, which should include the correct
server names, and if the default protocols are not used, the correct
protocols. If they haven't written instructions for Windows Mail yet,
their instructions for Outlook Express should also work under Windows
Mail, as long as they don't call for the http protocol, which is not
available
under Windows Mail. The instructions are probably available somewhere
on their web site. Or, you could tell us who your email provider is and
see if anyone here already knows where to find the instructions.
I tried looking up works.com, but it doesn't look likely to be an email
provider.
