In alphabetical grouped window, can folders be first?

When I sort alphabetically and into groups, folders and files alike are
grouped according to their initial letter; but I'd prefer to have folders
listed separately at the top of the list. Can Windows XP be made to do this?
Many thanks.

When you use the show in groups option it will do just that. Group the files
together using your arrange icons by setting. So if you choose arrange by
name, then show in groups, it will group by name in alphabetical order, no
matter what the object is(folder or file). It just does what you told it,
sort by name then group them.
If you want to have folders grouped together and keep it alphabetical,
choose arrange icons by type or by size, and show in groups. This will group
like objects together (ie: folders with folders) and inside each group they
will be alphabetized.
