Imprting Contacts from old computer (XP) to new one (Vista)

Wife bought a new desktop with Vista..having problems importing her contacts
from the old computer with XP to the new one with Vista....File comes out of
the old computer as a pst file......when trying to Import the file into
Outlook on the new computer it says it has to be a a pst file.....which it
is..........what are we doing wrong?

You are not saying what version(s) of Outlook you are talking about. PST
files from Outlook 2003/2007 are not compatible with earlier versions.
Also, when transporting the file via a read-only medium, the read-only
attribute may be set; remove it.

Finally, using import will get you certain information lost; better just
open the file with Outlook, then copy (drag-and-drop) the items into the
new Personal Folders.
