If someone with a more permanent site want to grab it and make it
available for fitwell [and others], go ahead.
You could post it in alt.binaries.freeware

Not possible as my NSP (= ISP) don't carry any *.binaries.* groups.
Depending on your news server, that could be less permanent than
someone hosting it on a dynamic IP.

I could sign up for and use some /DynDNS service/ i guess, but the need
hasn't really been there for me.

Anyway thanks Al, for taking it to the other link. Hopefully the driver
will turn out to work for fitwell and others in the end, as 'generic' as
it may or may not actually be.

Anyway thanks Al, for taking it to the other link.

One of these days I'm going to make a page that's a menu for
downloading all the stuff I've put on my site due to one request or
another here on acf. Right now I have to post the link to the program
every time someone asks for a file to be hosted.

Months ago I switched over to Windows 2000 since I had 2 programs that
don't work in Win98SE. Well, I'm fed up with Win2K. I've given it
enough chances. Even with sp4, it's a pain in the butt, like XP,
versus Win98SE. When the computer is a sinle user home PC, Win98SE is
just so much easier to maintain. However, one thing that it has over
Win98SE is how easy it is to use USB-driven devices with it.

I'll partition the C drive and add Win2K to that for those 2 programs,
but I'll go back to using Win98SE mainly. But was wondering since
Win2K is easier re USB if there wasn't some sort of program to give
Win98SE enhanced ability to more easily interface with it? Since the
difference is just a software one obviously (vs. a hardware-related
one), hoping that someone knows of something here.

This is an issue due to one thing - my MP3 player which I have
connected to PC via USB hub. Not worth staying mainly with Win2K just
for that, though, and hoping that I don't have ot toggle back and
forth every day between OSs just because of the player. I rarely need
the 2 programs that run on Win2K so those won't be a daily issue.

Anyway, TIA. :oD

Thanks everyone for all the responses. I did grave the "generic"
drivers but also, someone kindly posted in another group to contact
the company. I hadn't thought of that before and I do apologize for
that. I've emailed myself the info to work so that I can call their
toll-free number on Monday as they're only open on regular business
hours. If anyone would know, it would be them (d'uh!). Sometimes the
answer is too obvious <lol>!

If they can't help, however, hopefully that generic one just dl will.
I'm looking forward to going back to Win98SE. It did all I wanted to
do without the hassles. <g>
