Improper functioning of recently purchased basic keyboard

Sir,

Today I have purchased a MS Basic keyboard, but no
installation CD have been provided by supplier. Moreover,
keys are not producing correct impressions, e.g. against
@, \, ", # it is typing as ", #, @ , £ etc. These
are few examples. Kindly advice whether I should
return the keyboard to the supplier or not. Previously I
was using a multimedia keyboard mfd. by " i-key" which
was not working satisfactorily. Kindly reply at the
earliest.

Check the region and language settings. Operating systems
and keyboards have settings to configure the function of
keys.
