impossible to break scheduled disk check -- system booting

K

kakii

Windows XP SP3

System partition selected for file system and disk scan -- windows
on-board disk scan utility.
Windows reboots in order to accomplish the scan.
At the beginning diskscan offers skipping the scan by pressing any key.
No key stroke leads to skip the scan process -
as the keyboard was dead.

However, yet before windows starts to boot it is possible to
enter the motherboard bios setup utility.

Potential problem reasons known?

Is it a USB keyboard? If so, go into BIOS and make sure Allow Legacy USB
Devices is allowed.

Pull your pen drive, CF card, etc., then try it.

As the probs occurred both cf card and usb pen drive were out.
These device are now shortly in, just for test.
