importing xml files adds extra zeros

When I import xml files generated in forms with Adobe Livecycle Designer, I
get eight extra zeros in each numeric field. That happens when I choose to
convert forms to spread sheet files from Adobe, but doesn't happen if I
choose Import data from Excel itself.
The problem with this workaround is that in that way I have to import each
form once a time, and i get the data in a "stairways" mode (first field in
A1, second field in B2,and so on)
Any idea how to solve that?

I would starrt by trying to solve the eight extra zero problem because this
is probably the simplier method to solve problem. ther are two reasons for
the extra zeroes

1) Adobe converted the nubers to text and inserted the extra zeroes. Look
to see if the cells have textt format or a single quote infront of the
numbers to make them text. The VALUE function may help you convert them back
to numbers or change format to numbers.
2) If the numbers are really in number format maybe Adobe created a new
format with the leading zeroes. try changing the cells to general format or
number format.
