Importing Whole Excel Workbook

Guest

I've been trying to finish off a report, but want to include every
spreadsheet in my excel workbook into the word document in the appendix,
without having to import it several times, or take screenshots.

I would have thought it would be possible to import it directly from Excel,
but can't see how to do it.

Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated.

Click in the document where you want to place the linked object or embedded
object.
On the Insert menu, click Object.
Click Create from file.
In the File box, type the name of the file you want to create a linked
object or embedded object from, or click Browse to select from a list.
To create a linked object, select the Link to file check box.
An embedded object is created if you don't select the Link to file check box.

To display the linked object or embedded object as an icon — for example, if
you want to minimize the amount of space the object uses in the document —
select the Display as icon check box.
Note When you create an embedded object from information in an existing
Microsoft Excel workbook, the entire workbook is inserted into your document.
The document displays only one worksheet at a time. To display a different
worksheet, double-click the Microsoft Excel object, and then click a
different worksheet.

Sorry, but only one sheet at a time can be displayed in the Word doc per
embedded object, regardless of whether it's Embedded, Linked, or pasted
using some other format. IOW, when you embed/link to another file the entire
file is included but contained within a box - even if the embedded file is
several "pages" they're all stacked on top of each other in the box and only
*one* can be on top.

Thank you both for replying,

The fact that I can only have one 'page' from the document showing is the
real problem. I really want to show every page, which I'm now assuming is not
possible.

I think I'll rethink my plan and see what I can come up with.

Thanks once again.

Before you "rethink" it too hard, I should also point out that an
embedded/linked/pasted object also cannot go beyond the space allowed on a
single page in Word based on the paper size & margin settings - just in case
you were considering something like creating one long XL sheet :)

If you have a volume of XL content on multiple sheets there isn't too much
you can do other than create separate objects for each body. It may be a
little time-consuming, but not too difficult if you arrange the Word & XL
windows side-by-side, then copy/paste from the wkbk to the doc. Rearrange as
you work if necessary.
