Importing video into Intervideo or sonic

I've helped a few people tonight, can anyone help me?
If i try to import a video file into sonic or intervideo,
my xp hangs.
I have re-installed xp and software.

i had this same with big graf files and photoshop, i've just added ram and
it works perfect. try to borrow some memory from friends, try if doesn't
work, install service pack, but if u r using pirate ver. do it proper, i
mean change xp-key.
