Importing .pst files

I have been trying for a week to figure this out. I created a backup of my
emails in outlook, transfered it ot my new computer with Vista and couldnt'
open it in Windows mail. (no one told me Office 2007 Student didnt' come
with Outlook like previous versions). So, I imported to OE06 on my old
computer, created an export file, transfered it here, but it is also in a
..pst file... NOW WHAT??? I can't figure this out!!
THANKS!!

What if my old computer won't turn on so I can't do that? is there any way
to take the .pst file on my new computer and make it work without buying
outlook??
Thanks!

No, there's no way to import a .PST file without Outlook. If the old
computer has Outlook installed, but won't start, you'll have to get Outlook
from somewhere and install it on the new PC.

You can install an evaluation version of Outlook and then import it that
way.
