Is it even possible? I'm making a slide show and I want to use these songs
that I got from napster, but it says the files are protected by DMR. Is
there anyway I can get around this?

Yes. You can.
Use Windows Media Player or any other RIPPER engine to RIP those files to
either Windows Media Audio files, or to .wma files respectively.
