Importing problems

Tony Sutton

I am using Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1123 and I want to move all of my
e-mails from OE to Outlook XP.

I start up Outlook XP and started to import all of the e-mails. It worked
well, but all of the e-mails are set to TODAY date. When I open the e-mail,
it is showing the correct date & time, but when looking at the listing of
"Received", it's showing today's date & time.

Is this a known bug with Outlook XP? Or did I goof up somewhere?

Many thanks,

B

Rather than import them in Outlook, export them from OE. The dates will be
preserved that way.

So you're saying that I should take the "long" way to do this?

As in:

Outlook Express -> Export all e-mails -> Outlook -> Import files -> Emails

?

Thanks for the reply.

You shouldn't need to import from Outlook at all if you're exporting from
OE...if Outlook is installed, that's where the messages will go.

No. When you export from OE, it will automatically add then to Outlook. OE
can export only to Outlook directly.

If you have Outlook and Outlook Express open simultaneously and you export
from OE, you'll see them pop into Outlook as you watch.
