Importing picts into individule slides in Powerpoint

I have about 100 pic files that I want to import into PowerPoint into
individual slides (Pic one inserts into slide 1, Pic 2 inserts into slide 2
etc). I am doing in manually right now, is there a way to do a global import
etc?

Inn PPT 2002/2003:
Insert > Picture > New Photo Album. Browse to the folder/device that
contains your images. Select the images you want to insert (or CTRL-A to
select all of the images). Hit Create.

You can make use of Photo Album to do so.
For PowerPoint 2002/Xp and above, click Insert > Picture > New Photo Album.
For PowerPoint 2000, you will need to download the free photo album add-in.

Does it take a while to do this? I have been waiting 5 or so mins and
nothing seems to be happening---
