I have had problems with my computer recently and decided to re-format my
hard drive. I am having trouble "importing" older messages that I had
saved in Outlook Express and attempted to retrieve after re-installing OE
v.6 (older messages from same version). I have had difficulty upon
attempting this once already in the past when doing the same thing. I
attempted to import messages using the "import" option in OE and have failed
time and time again. In fact, when trying to import, an option to import
messages from "OE" does not even exist. When importing messages, OE only
gives the option of importing from other e mail programs. I DESPERATELY
need help !!! Before reformatting the hard drive, I saved the appropriate
OE mail files and "identities" located in Windows(98)\Application
Data\Identities\Microsoft\Outlook Express\"inbox.dbx." Upon attempting to
import messages and giving the proper "path" to the files, I get the
following message: "No messages can be found in this folder or another
application is running that has the required files open." I am trying to
import the inbox.dbx file that I have residing temporarily in the "My
Documents" folder on my hard drive. Could there possibly be a conflict with
the inbox ".idx" and/or ".mbx" files that are located in the Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Mail folder ?? I am so CONFUSED !
Someone please help or give direction on web that will explain the problem
with importing messages from OE when reformatting a hard drive !! Thanks in
advance !!!!!
