Importing/linking spreadsheets

Is there an easy way I can import, or link to an external spreadsheet?

Rather than going through cell by cell.

I also want the spreadsheet to update automatically?

in book1, copy the range of cell you want to import
open book2, edit paste special-->in lower left hand side, click paste link

then the cell will be update automatically.
