Importing into XP Moviemaker

I am receiving the following error when I try to import a MPEG file into my
collection on XP Moviemaker:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My
Pictures\6-22-2009(1)\20080914095032.mpg could not be imported. An interface
has too many methods to fire events from

Does anyone know what this means?
 
It's an MPEG2 file and Movie Maker won't work with it... see my website's
Import Movie Source Files > Video > MPEG page for tips about doing file
conversions before importing.
