Importing Group Contacts from OE to Outlook wirelessly?

Fran

On notebook #1 I have OE6 that contains several Contact Groups. I also have
Outlook on this machine and can Import these Groups (along with all other
contacts) from a .cvs file to which I have exported all my contacts from OE.
Now I bought notebook #2 and I am unable to import the Groups via My Network
Places wirelessly from the same .cvs file on notebook #1. The contacts come
in, but none of the groups. Can someone give me a step-by-step to
accomplish this? All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Fran

You mean CSV?

Why not copy the exported file in whatever method you want (USB thumb drive,
network, etc) to the other computer and then use it *on* the other computer
instead of trying to use it over the network completely?

Fran,
You cannot import/export Group Contacts, OE's version of a distribution list.
You need to manually recreate them in the Outlook's address book.

If you're using OE, you are probably actually referring to the contacts in
Windows Address Book, which is what OE uses for addressing. Either locate
the address book - open WAB and go to help/About, which will show you where
the file is, or export it to somewhere new as WAB, not CSV. Then import
that to Outlook. Don't use CSV for this.

WAB does not actually maintain various features when exported. For
example, Folders are simply thrown away. IIRC, groups are honored.
You'll have to just try and see what works.
