Importing from Outlook Express to MS Outlook

K

K C Anderson

Outlook express version 6.0
MS Outlook Office 2003
MS Outlook already has one account normal POP3 account.

Using the import wizard to import from another program, select Outlook
Express and follow the prompts, all works well and the mail in imported into
MS Outlook.
Problem; Imported account type = IMAP

When I open the sent folder of the newly import account the "To:" column is
empty, why? I have check the account in Outlook Express and the Sent folder
contains data in the "To" column.

Another problem is when I reply to an e-mail received by the IMAP account
the "sent" copy is in the sent folder of the pop account.

Any help would be appreciated

Use Export from within OE instead.

As for the IMAP; where are they stored when you create a new message instead
of a reply?

You rarely have to import from an IMAP account because the messages are
stored on the server. Just define the account in Outlook to reference that
same IMAP server and mailbox and all the messages should be there.

account the "sent" copy is in the sent folder of the pop account.

Sent items will always be stored in the Sent Items of the default deivery
location, unless you use an outbound rule to move them. I think Outlook
2007 will allow that without a rule.
