importing from other word processors

I have dozens of text files in Word Pro and have been unable to import them
in to Word. Any suggestions?

Just shows how mighty are the fallen!
Lotus used to be the world leader, now not even Open Office, with it's
HUNDREDS of filters lists WordPro....

Lotus shot themselves in the foot when they replaced the excellent AmiPro
with the dreadful WordPro and never really recovered. It was perhaps a step
too far .... a bit like Word 2007 ;) What they should have done was update
AmiPro to work properly with the later Windows 95 OS, but big companies
always seem to know better than their users.
