I am having trouble finishing the process of getting my email list from a
excel spread sheet into my contacts in outlook.I get an erro message that
says "An ODBC error in the Mircrosoft Excel 97-2003 translator while opening
a file to build a field map. Too many fields defined. Can anyone help me.

Max # of columns in an Excel worksheet used for importing = 127 so.......

#1 - Your named range is not correctly defined and includes more than 127
columns OR
#2 - You are trying to use a worksheet with more than 127 columns

Options

#1 - Fix your worksheet and/or named range or reduce # of fields OR
#2 - Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file and import that file instead (max #
of fields allowed = 255)

*** given that you cannot import any data into any custom fields using the
Outlook import wizard, you would never require/need to exceed 127 columns to
populate a standard Outlook contact.
