importing/exporting or back up

what is the best way to backup & restore all details in my
contacts folder.

i tried doing it by importing/exporting as .pst file but
somehow i cannot retrieve the info on the file. please
help.

1. can u help me with the step by step procedure to import
a .pst file.

2. how can i backup all information in my contacts folder

3. how to backup all contents in my inbox

4. how to archive inbox, contacts, address books etc and
retrieve them without losing information.
